I
fell out of a window and broke my back in the summer of 1975. The doctors
told me I was paralysed, there was no cure, and I would never walk
again. I was just 18 and a few months later I got a wheelchair for
my 19th birthday.
I learned to push the wheelchair and got on with my life,
pursuing a career in television (BBC, Granada TV, Channel Four etc.) before "retiring early" to focus on my health
- namely the challenges of ageing with a disability.
Truthfully, as daft
as it may seem, this was the first time in 30 years I really began
to look at my health as opposed to my TV career which had taken all
my time and attention.
Martin’s Miracle began in July 2004 when a
surprise email from a producer friend at CNN appeared in my in-box.
It led me to the Casa de Dom Inácio, a spiritual hospital in
Brazil, where I met a trance-medium healer the Brazilians call 'The
Miracle Man - John of God'.
Here, I witnessed seemingly unexplainable,
miraculous cures - cancer, aids, blind people regaining sight, lame
walking again, and so on. The experience changed my life and the way I view
my disability, especially the part where the doctors say, "You'll
never walk again."
What began as a personal mission to manifest a miracle and walk again has grown into a
nonprofit initiative to help and support disabled people who seek a self-healing alternative to poor health.
I now get emails from people with "incurable" conditions all over the world. My point is you're not alone. Please email me if I can help you.
