I have to say I do agree with the expression, "We are what we eat." For too many years I worked long, hard hours, and also played hard without a thought for what I ate or drank.
These days:
- I do not drink alcohol
- I certainly do not smoke
- I am a vegetarian exploring a raw food diet/lifestyle
- I no longer drink coffee
I have no doubt the key to healthy living is a good diet and regular exercise.
Here are my food choices:
- I buy organic fruit and vegetables
- I drink lots and lots of water throughout the day (not just while exercising)
- I do not eat pre-packaged microwave meals or "junk" foods
- I eat fewer cooked meals (which destroy good enzymes)
- I seldom eat bread and wheat products
- I avoid butter, margarine and dairy products, and opt for Soy milk instead
- I don't take sugar
- I do take supplements - vitamin C, B12 and a blend of good omega oils
- I make my own fruit and vegetable juices every day
- I drink hot water with lemon, lime or ginger
- I have finally managed to overcome my weakness for ginger biscuits, replacing them with raw broccoli. It tastes great!
Proper nutrition is a cornerstone of self-healing. Eat sensibly and lsten to your body. It's fun and I feel great.
